Terms of Use
These terms cover the use of this website only. They are not the terms of your care.
If we provide care for you, that is governed by a separate written service agreement, which sets out what we will do, what it costs and how either side can end it. Nothing on this page changes that agreement.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Skillcare Limited, registered in England & Wales, company number 08103865, at Building 3, North London Business Park, Oakleigh Road South, London N11 1GN.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission for the regulated activity of personal care. You can read our CQC report rather than take our word for anything on this site.
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. This site is information, not advice
Everything here is general information about our services. It is not medical, clinical, legal or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for a proper assessment.
Care needs are individual. Nothing you read here should be relied on to decide what care someone needs, or to make a clinical decision. If you need advice about a person's health, speak to their GP or a healthcare professional.
In an emergency, do not use this website. Call 999 if someone is seriously ill or injured. For urgent medical help that is not an emergency, call 111. If you already receive care from us and need us urgently, call 020 3640 7722 in office hours, or our 24/7 lines on 07983 163392 or 07399 472345 at any time.
3. Accuracy and availability
We take care to keep this site accurate and current, and we correct things when we find them wrong. But we do not warrant that everything here is complete or up to date at every moment. Service details, coverage areas and availability change.
We do not guarantee the site will always be available or uninterrupted. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.
Coverage of an area on this site is not a guarantee of capacity. Whether we can take on a particular package depends on carer availability at the time, and we will always tell you straight rather than keep you waiting.
4. Enquiries do not create a contract
Sending an enquiry or a referral through this site does not create any obligation on either side. Care begins only after a free assessment, a written care plan and a signed service agreement.
Please do not send us more personal or health information through the website forms than you need to. Our privacy notice explains what happens to what you do send.
5. Our content
The content of this site — text, design, images, the Skillcare name and logo — belongs to Skillcare Limited or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law.
You may read it, print it and share it for your own personal or internal professional use. You may not republish it commercially, or present it as your own, without our written permission.
6. Case studies and testimonials
Case studies on this site are anonymised. Names and identifying details are changed or removed, and no one is identifiable from them. Where a story is an illustrative example rather than a specific individual's, we label it as such on the page.
They describe what happened in those situations. They are not a promise of the same outcome for anyone else.
7. Links to other websites
We link to other organisations — the NHS, the CQC, councils, charities — because they are useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.
8. Our responsibility to you
We do not exclude or limit our liability to you in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including our duties as a registered care provider.
Subject to that: we are not liable for loss arising from your use of this website, or from reliance on information published on it. This does not affect your rights as a consumer, or anything in your service agreement if you receive care from us.
9. If something is wrong
If anything on this site looks inaccurate, out of date or unclear, please tell us — info@skillcare.org.uk or 020 3640 7722. We would rather hear it from you than leave it wrong.
Complaints about our care are handled under our complaints procedure, acknowledged within three working days.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and the version on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
