Reablement care
Reablement care is designed to help the client relearn how to do things for themselves. We will work with the client to improve their level of independence to remain in their own home for as long as possible.
Our service is intended to help the client regain skills when carrying out daily chores such as washing up, cooking meals, or just getting around the house again. This will help them restore their confidence, mobility and general life skills.
Reablement care is designed to last for up to six weeks, at which point it is expected that we will have a good idea of what the client long-term care needs are likely to be.
If the client would benefit from additional care once their reablement care package ends we can discuss a package of care that is suitable for them.
Skillcare carers have the following qualities:
Patience is an ability to appear easy-going and unconcerned with time, avoiding excessive ambition that might make the client uncomfortable with the pace of progress. It allows the client the necessary time and space.
Empathy In Reablement. The ability of our carer to see it from the client point of view is vital. Our carers understand both the client mental and physical condition, so they know the right goals and strategies that will work for the client.
Confidence Building. A hospital stay, illness, injury, or disability can impact a client confidence. Our carers are trained to help rebuild their confidence and motivation to become stronger.
